Summer projects are in full swing from Quincy to Plymouth. Get the container on site, protect the property, and keep every pull clean and on time.
1) Driveway protection and placement

• Lay plywood where rails/wheels land—protects pavers/asphalt and spreads the load.
  
• Choose a flat pad with a straight 60–80 ft approach and 10–12 ft overhead clearance.
  
• Avoid soft edges and steep slopes; if unavoidable, set with the door uphill.
  

2) Access rules that prevent trip charges

• Keep cars out of the swing path at set/pick.
  
• Trim low branches/wires; village centers have tight overheads.
  
• Share contact info for someone on site at pickup time.
  

3) Container size by material density

• Heavy debris only (concrete, masonry, dirt, tile, plaster): 10 or 15-yard.
  
• Mixed C&D (kitchen/bath/flooring): 15-yard keeps weight honest.
  
• Light/bulky cleanouts: 20 or 25-yard; 30-yard for large volumes kept flat.
  
• Roofing (single-layer asphalt): 25 or 30-yard; keep it level, pull on time.
  

4) Load like a pro

• Dense material low and centered; fill corners with light items.
  
• Break down everything; air pockets waste capacity and cause shifting.
  
• Latch the door before topping off lightly.
  
• Stop at the rail—overfilled loads won’t tarp.
  

5) Weather & old-home realitiesOlder homes produce plaster/lathe and chimney brick—dense and heavy. Afternoon storms are less frequent than winter weather here, but tarp if rain is coming. In late fall, salt/sand the set zone—ice can bond the can to the driveway.
